Stellina D’oro has a zero-tolerance policy towards conflict diamonds.
Conflict diamonds are diamonds mined and sold in “war zones” with the purposes of financing insurgencies or invasions.
At Stellina D’oro, diamonds are purchased using suppliers who proudly adhere to and insist on the standards established by The Kimberley Process. Stellina D’oro reserves the right to instantaneously cease business relationships with any supplier or organization that does not meet the standards established by The Kimberley Process.
About The Kimberley Process
The Kimberley Process is an International process used to track and certify diamonds.
The Kimberley Process originated in May of 2000. Diamond producers from southern Africa met in Kimberley, South Africa, to plan a method that would halt the trade of conflict diamonds. The World Diamond Congress adopted a resolution to allow parties in the diamond industry the power to block sales of diamonds from noted conflict diamond areas.
The resolution called for an internationally recognized certification process. This process includes legislation in all countries to only accept diamonds in officially sealed packages. Criminal charges are imposed on any purchaser or organization selling conflict diamonds.
The Kimberley Process was passed in March of 2002 and is now an internationally recognized standard for diamond sellers and purchasers.
U.S. Customs actively enforces The Kimberley Process, ensuring that Stellina D’oro only deals in reputable, fair-practice diamonds. Customers and purchasers are assured of the quality and legality of our diamonds and diamond products.
